Pocket Toolkit Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026
Pocket Toolkit ("the app") is made by Suleiman, an individual developer publishing as Bright Pixel ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, what stays on your phone, and what leaves it.
Summary
- The tools run on your phone. We have no servers and no user accounts. We don't collect your measurements, photos, recordings, location, files or anything you type into the tools.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. To show ads, Google receives some information about your device, as described in Ads. Where the law requires it, you're asked for consent before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone other than as described in this policy.
Information that stays on your phone
The app only asks for a permission the first time you open a tool that needs it, never when the app starts. You can refuse, and you can change your choice at any time in Android settings. The tools that don't need that permission keep working.
- Camera: Magnifier, mirror, color picker, QR scanner, camera protractor, height meter, distance meter, camera level. The camera image is processed live on the phone. Nothing is saved unless you choose to save or share a photo. QR codes are read on the phone; a link opens only if you tap it.
- Camera flash: Flashlight, stroboscope, SOS. The flash is switched on and off. The camera image isn't used.
- Microphone:
- Sound meter and sound spectrum: only the loudness and frequencies are measured. No audio is recorded or saved.
- Speaker & mic test: a 5-second test recording is kept in the app's temporary storage only to play it back, then deleted.
- Voice recorder: records only while you're recording. Recordings are saved in the app's private storage on your phone and leave it only if you share them. Deleting a recording or uninstalling the app removes it.
- Location: Compass (true north), Qibla, sun & moon, speedometer, altimeter, GPS status, GPS distance & area, parking reminder, cell signal, Wi-Fi scanner. Used on the phone for calculations and, for the Wi-Fi scanner and cell signal, because Android requires location access to list nearby networks. The last known approximate position is stored on the phone so these tools also work offline. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Photos (a photo you pick, and access to photo locations): Photo metadata. The photo is read on the phone to show its details (such as where and when it was taken). A cleaned copy is created in the app's temporary storage and leaves the phone only if you share or save it. Your original photo isn't changed.
- Physical activity: Step counter. Step counts are stored on the phone.
- Nearby devices: Bluetooth scanner. Nearby devices are shown on screen only; nothing is saved or sent. The app doesn't use Bluetooth to find your location.
- NFC: NFC reader. Tags are read and shown on screen only; nothing is saved or sent.
- Phone and network details: Network info, cell signal, battery info, device info, storage speed, sensor dashboard. Shown on screen only. The storage speed test writes a temporary file on the phone and deletes it afterwards.
- Notifications and alarms: Timer, interval timer, countdown, parking reminder. Used to alert you at the time you set. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Stored data: History, favorites, settings, text you enter in tools. Stored on the phone only.
- Clipboard: Copy buttons. Text is copied only when you tap Copy.
- Files you choose: Backup and restore. Written only to the location you pick, and read only when you choose a file to restore.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The app shows a banner on the Tools and Favorites screens and, occasionally, a full-screen ad when you close a tool. No ads are shown inside the tools, on the emergency screen or in Settings. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC and its affiliates ("Google").
To show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID,
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
- device and app information, such as the phone model, Android version, language and app version,
- how you interact with ads, and
- diagnostic information, such as crash and performance data from the ads software.
Consent. Before any ad is requested, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and anywhere else it's required, you choose whether ads may be personalized. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy options. If you don't consent, all the tools still work; the app then shows non-personalized ads or no ads, depending on your choices and where you are.
Your controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on the phone).
Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Feedback by email
Settings → Send feedback opens your own email app with a draft addressed to [email protected]. The draft includes your phone model, Android version, app version and language. You can see and delete these before sending. Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself. We use your email and what you write only to reply to you and to improve the app, and we delete it when it's no longer needed for that.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Ads: your consent for personalized ads, and Google's legitimate interests for non-personalized ads, fraud prevention and measurement, as described by Google.
- Feedback emails: our legitimate interest in answering you and improving the app.
- Everything else stays on your device, and we don't process it.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences.
Sharing and sale
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. The only information that leaves your phone is:
- what Google AdMob receives, as described above, and
- anything you choose to send yourself, such as an email, or a photo, recording or file you share.
International transfers
Google may process ad-related information in countries other than yours, including the United States, under safeguards described in Google's privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your information
Everything the app stores is on your phone. To delete it, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings (Settings → Apps → Pocket Toolkit → Storage → Clear storage). Backup files and any photos or recordings you saved or shared stay where you put them until you delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. We don't hold data from the tools, so there's nothing for us to access or delete. For ads data, use Settings → Privacy options and your phone's ad settings, or contact Google. For feedback emails, write to us and we'll delete them. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The tools don't send your data over the internet. Information the app stores stays in its private storage on your phone, which other apps can't read. Ads data is sent to Google over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
